This is Major our first Sanctuary dog here at Charney Rescue.
He arrived with our very first transport of dogs from Romania in March 2018 saved from the kill list at Breasta Shelter. Major’s passport said he was 4 years old but it was obvious that he is a lot older. We think he is most likely between 10 and 12 years old now. Major is a large sized dog of heavy build.
He is so very affectionate towards people and is also good with female dogs but he is really aggressive towards other male dogs in all circumstances.
Bless his heart he is also very stiff with arthritis in his elbows [or elbow dysplasia]. We did try and find him a suitable home for some time but we never found anyone prepared to take him on with these issues. Meanwhile he became so very at home here and thoroughly enjoys his life at the sanctuary.
