Bowi

Bowi arrived with us at Charney in Novemeber 2018 rescued form Breasta public shelter Romania.

Bowi lived as a street dog before being caught by dogcatchers. She was not used to human contact when she arrived but with time and patience she is now happy to be handled and loves a fuss!

She is a happy, friendly dog with people and other dogs both male and female.

Health Information

Bowi is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

Unfortunately Bowi tested positive for Heartworm before leaving Romania and has undergone 6 months of treatment with Ivermectin injections to clear the infection. Bowi has now been blood tested negative for Heartworm and is ready for adoption. She is approx 6 years old and in good health.

Breed and Temperament

Bowi is a medium sized Collie mixed breed. She has a sweet and happy disposition and mixes well with other dogs. Bowi was not used to being handled when she arrived and does not like being walked on the lead using a collar or slip lead. She is very happy to wear a harness for walks.
Bowi is an ex street dog and she can be a little territorial of her home when people she does not know enter. This can be easily managed in a home enviroment and full advice will be given.

She would suit a home experienced with rescue dogs prepared to give the time and patience needed for her to adapt to home life.

Bowi's ideal home

Bowi would prefer a relaxed home environment with an adopter/s who is at home for most of the day. She would happily share a home and enjoy the company of another friendly dog.

Bowi enjoys going for walks and sleeping in a nice comfy bed!

She is not suitable to be rehomed to a household with children under the age of 12 years.

Bowi is not cat tested so we cannot guarantee how she will react to a resident cat. No small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs or chickens etc
